Terms of Service
Last updated 27 July 2026 · Version 1.0
These terms govern your use of Menu Hunter — the menu-hunter.com website and the Menu Hunter mobile apps. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Menu Hunter.
1. What Menu Hunter is
Menu Hunter is a community-built catalog of restaurant menus in the Philippines. Menu information comes from three places: publicly available sources, contributions from users like you, and verified restaurant owners who manage their own listing.
Prices and menus change, and we may be wrong. Menu Hunter is an information service, not the restaurant. A listing is not an offer, and a price shown here is not a guarantee. Always confirm with the restaurant before you rely on it.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone.
- You can delete your account at any time — in the app, or at menu-hunter.com/delete-account.
3. Contributing menu photos
Menu Hunter depends on contributions. When you upload a photo you confirm that:
- You took it yourself, or you have the right to share it.
- It is a genuine photo of a menu, price list or menu board at the restaurant you attached it to.
- It does not contain other people's personal information, and is not otherwise unlawful.
You keep ownership of your photos. By uploading, you grant Menu Hunter a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, adapt and distribute them as part of the catalog. This licence continues for photos already published even if you later delete your account, because they have become menu information other users rely on — but they will no longer be linked to you.
Automated photo checks
Submitted photos are checked automatically before they can be published. A photo is rejected if it is blurry, partly out of focus, too low-resolution, blank, or if we cannot read item names and prices in it. Photos that pass may still be reviewed by a moderator. We may reject or remove any contribution at our discretion.
4. Reviews and conduct
Reviews must reflect a genuine experience. Do not post anything false, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit or unlawful; do not spam, advertise, or post on behalf of a competitor to damage a business; do not scrape, overload or attempt to break the service; do not upload malware.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.
5. Restaurant owners
If you claim a listing as an owner or authorised representative:
- You confirm you are authorised to act for that business, and the permit and ID you upload are genuine. Submitting forged documents is grounds for immediate removal and may be reported to the authorities.
- Once approved you may edit your listing, upload menu photos, and maintain a structured menu — free of charge.
- You are responsible for keeping your prices and availability accurate.
- We may revoke a claim if we find it invalid, or if the listing is misused. Revoking a claim cancels any active promotion attached to it.
Promotion and featured placement
Owners may optionally subscribe to featured placement through an in-app purchase. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the App Store under their terms, renew automatically until cancelled, and are managed and cancelled in your store account — not by us. Refunds are handled by the store according to its policy. Featured placement affects where a listing appears; it does not change reviews or ratings.
6. In-app ordering
Some verified restaurants accept orders through the app. Where they do:
- The contract for the food is between you and the restaurant. Menu Hunter passes the order along and is not the seller, the preparer or the courier.
- Menu Hunter does not process payment for orders. You pay the restaurant directly, in cash or through the shop's own e-wallet. We never hold your money and never see your card details.
- A submitted order is a request until the restaurant accepts it. They may reject it, and they set their own preparation times, minimum spend, delivery area and fees.
- You may cancel while an order is still pending or newly accepted. After the kitchen starts, contact the restaurant directly.
- Complaints about food quality, missing items, lateness or refunds are between you and the restaurant. Tell us as well if a restaurant behaves improperly, so we can act on the listing.
7. Intellectual property
The Menu Hunter name, logo, software and the compiled catalog are ours or our licensors'. You may not copy, scrape or redistribute the catalog in bulk, or build a competing database from it, without written permission. Restaurant names and marks belong to their owners and appear for identification only.
8. Availability
We provide Menu Hunter on an "as is" and "as available" basis and may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, nor that any menu, price or listing is accurate, complete or current.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Philippine law, Menu Hunter is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the service; nor for the acts or omissions of any restaurant, including the quality, safety or legality of food you order. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, or PHP 1,000.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including under the Consumer Act of the Philippines.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Menu Hunter against claims arising from content you submit or from your breach of these terms.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Menu Hunter and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect the service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Philippines.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The version and date at the top will change, and we will notify you in the app when a change is material. Continuing to use Menu Hunter after a change means you accept the new terms.
